Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Tekebel, W. Fergana. O.S. Vyazlov, 1945 (154, p.129, 131). Stratotype not specified.

Synonym: Tekyabel suite, Tekebel Suite, Tekebel Red Sands and Clays Horizon


Lithology and Thickness

Interbedding of red, green clays, sandstones, marls, dolomites, and gypsum. Thickness 20-70m.


Lithology Pattern: 
Shallow-marine marl

Lower contact

Lies conformably on the Agaaral Fm

Upper contact

It is overlain by the radiolarian horizon.

Regional extent

W. Fergana, Naucat Basin, southern districts of the western foothills of the Fergana Range.
